November was a big month for foreign branded smartphones in China, including $AAPL iPhones.  Overall sales jumped 128%.  In October, Apple saw iPhone sales jump 22% year-on-year after the launch in September.  But remember, November 2024 was a terrible month for foreign smartphone makers in China.  Sales fell nearly by half (47%).  So this year, they are just recovering lost ground thanks largely to a strong new product line for Apple's flagship iPhone 17.

One of the highest monthly game approvals this year.  But proposed measures banning/limiting rewards or incentives that encourage high usage and loyalty will still weigh on sentiment.  China is rewriting the rules of online gaming content to address what it perceives as societal ills that require significant rethinking on the part of game developers - the first such country to do so.  It may also be the start of a global trend if Chinese game developers are able to successfully recalibrate and grow.  For now, we wait and see.
