@WSJ This is disappointing but not surprising. I worked there with these leaders and they willfully suspend disbelief on safety issues. This is simply an example of standard negligent behavior when it comes to keeping people safe.

Ex-Instagram consultant Arturo Béjar, set to testify in Congress on November 7, says Meta did not fully act on its Well-Being Team's findings to protect teens

When a Meta security expert told Mark Zuckerberg that Instagram's approach to protecting teens wasn't working, the CEO didn't reply.

@justinhendrix @JeffHorwitz Well... They ask is to trust them rather than giving us the data to know. I don't trust them and I worked with them.

@MikeIsaac @sheeraf Looking forward to reading these studies - proves why we need PATA. I worry that this only looked at political polarization and not racial, ethnic, religious etc. Probably can't pull out p99 hate filled feeds etc. It isn't about average impact.

@MikeIsaac So far Elon and his team haven't demonstrated good instincts for saving / growing Twitter. This seems destined to further pigeon hole the platform into what Parler hoped to be and the likely decline in broader usage. The advertiser profile in 5 years will be really interesting.

@linakhanFTC The algorithmic component is critically important. People say “show us the algorithms” but without understanding or guiding the underlying data you can't understand the algorithms. And plenty of research demonstrates unintentional algo biases. These will get worse without rules.
