WhatsApp rolls out ads in its Updates tab, a first for the app, and Meta will collect some data to target the ads, but says it has no plans to put ads in chats

They will appear in only one part of the Meta-owned messaging service, it said.  The move is potentially lucrative, while raising questions about user privacy.

Two things that stood out to me from $AMZN 1Q'25 call: 1. Amazon ads incremental revenue as a percentage of Google advertising incremental revenue increased from 33% in 1Q'24 to 40% in 1Q'25. 2. for the last five consecutive quarters, AWS is posting 35%+ operating margin. AWS [image]

The sooner $AMZN and $MSFT both understand that it is indeed an excellent suggestion by Meta, the better it is for all three of them.  It's likely a massive waste of resources for all of them to compete against Google and OpenAI on developing models.  It would be much better for them to fund the open source model together.  Perhaps a potential recession could force that.  [image]
