I wonder if it's basically just the Passwords Settings getting jettisoned from the Settings app.  It's currently pretty damn good already.  Aside from password generation, storage, and management you can do 2FA with QR or OTP, family sharing, and manage passkeys.  And it tells you if you've used the same password elsewhere.

Who did not see this coming?  I commend them for wanting to try something new, unfortunately it was clear even before launch that they weren't going to be able to pull it off.  An unconvincing launch video, restricted media gathering, unsustainable business model, they were cooking stones.
