DHH is repeatedly saying that Apple does nothing to earn the 30% cut of IAPs that ‘bullying bureaucrats’ then ‘extort’ from them, but in the same breath says: “Something like 85% of all HEY customers use Apple devices, so not being present on the iPhone with the new HEY Calendar would be a death sentence for that part of the business.” So you get 85% of your customers via Apple devices, but they do nothing for your business? 🤔

I'm just listening to the latest The Talk Show podcast and Gruber is lamenting about how riddled with ads Windows is. I, for one, see a lot more ads on my Apple devices (in App Store and settings) than I do on my Windows devices. Am I just not seeing them or is this another example of him stating some ‘facts’ that are completely incorrect?
