EU is set to fine Apple up to 10% of their global revenue. EU is 7% of Apple's global revenue (profit being, on average, about half whatever that number is). So, the EU could, theoretically, fine Apple 3 years of income. When does it make sense to just leave the EU? Soon.

Apple Vision Pro - “Submerged” is the highest quality 180 footage I have ever seen. - Not sure I like the extreme closeups or extreme wides. But the middle is incredible. - Surprised that cuts worked - Camera moves make you uncomfortable by design - amazing. More please.

@sdw Apple is opening it up just enough to build use cases for why it will affect quality and security. The first missteps will be part of the marketing campaign. As a user, I really don't want another store. As a developer, I really don't want users to be confused/frustrated.

For those saying Apple's Vision Pro is expensive. My parents bought me an Apple IIe in 1982, with a green lit monitor for $2000. The equivalent cost today is $6300. A lot of people are going to buy the headset. Not everyone, but it will be a $Billion business out of the gate.

@Chris44535955 Seemed like an obvious next step. Other than regulation, there is no reason for Apple not to move into a market largely impacted by user trust and loyalty. If they were a bank, they could be nearly a closed system with savings and credit all revolving around their products.

@Ihnatko Apple's shift was a genius move though it's not exactly what some were hoping for. Apple essentially flooded their market by going direct to consumer. This great for Consumers, great for Apple, great for Authorized repair... not good for non-authorized who have been commodified.

Senators propose “Open App Markets Act” that will force sideloading and lead to a complete mess for the users.... but great for the massive corporations pushing for it. This is instead of working on something that would benefit average people... like less internet monopolies.

@mikenoe @SenBlumenthal @marshblackburn @SenAmyKlobuchar I think our representatives should think about what millions of angry iPhone users will do when they are forced, by big corporations, to sideload in order to squeeze extra money out of them. I promise to blame the three of you for years for the mess that you are about to create.

@stevebrazill @Ihnatko @leolaporte @reneritchie I generally don't take quite a hard stance but, for Apple Users, what congress is proposing is something we will not get to fix when it's wrong... and it will damage our experience permanently. We, as the users, bought into an ecosystem and we have a right to have that ecosystem.
