To be a little unkind, Facebook's argument with this report seems to be: Actually, the biggest stuff on our platform is *total* garbage, not right-wing garbage.

My other thought about it: this is a perfect example of Platform Blindness. It's all about percentages and gives not one thought to the idea that a small Facebook phenomenon could have large implications in the actual, functioning world of American social and political life.
