A US appeals court upholds a contempt ruling in Epic v. Apple, but says Apple can argue in a lower court to charge <27% for transactions outside the App Store
or at least a contempt ruling is not the right vehicle for imposing a royalty-free licensing obligation on Apple only because it asked for too much. Apple wanted the injunction lifted in light of new California case law, which was denied. And the case remains before Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, with whom Apple disagreed on a lot of things, but who did not do anything that would warrant a reassignment of the case.
